Cat & Dog Vaccinations

Keep your pet protected by getting them vaccinated at Box Hill Veterinary Hospital.

When it comes to taking care of the health of your pet, it’s crucial that your dog or cat receives regular vaccinations against all of the serious, but preventable, diseases that are present across Australia.

At Box Hill Veterinary Hospital, we provide vaccination services for dogs and cats of all ages, ensuring your family pet remains protected at all times.

Feline vaccination services

Cats should be vaccinated against Feline Enteritis, Feline Respiratory Disease, and Feline Immuno-deficiency Virus. This combination is known as a "F5 vaccination", and is our recommendation for cats living in south eastern Australian.

The recommended vaccination schedule for kittens starts at 6-8 weeks of age, which is then boosted at 12 weeks and 16 weeks of age. Because the immunity gained from these initial vaccinations weakens over time, we recommend annual booster vaccinations to provide the best protection for your cat.

Canine vaccination services

Box Hill Veterinary Clinic provides vaccinations for all the serious diseases that may affect dogs and puppies, including Parvovirus, Distemper, Infectious Hepatitis and Parainfluenza virus + Bordetella Bronchiseptica bacterium (two of the causes of the Canine Cough disease).

The recommended vaccination schedule for puppies starts at 6-8 weeks of age, with the core C3 vaccination completed by 10 weeks old. The canine cough vaccine will need a booster at 14-16 weeks of age.

There is now an option of a 3 yearly vaccine for Distemper Hepatitis and Parvovirus for your dog. However the Canine Cough Vaccine is still required every year. Whichever option you choose; a yearly 5 in 1 injection or a triennial 3 in 1 and a yearly canine cough vaccination will ensure that your pet is thoroughly examined every year. It is vital that your pet is in for a Medical check annually to ensure that he/she is in good health
